How Safe is Xplora for My Child?

Xplora has no internet access, no social media, and no addictive apps, protecting your child from cyberbullying and inappropriate content. The watch fits securely on the wrist and includes GPS tracking, Safety Zones, and a step counter, ensuring both safety and active engagement throughout the day.

What is the Xplora Guardian app, and why do I need it?

The Xplora Guardian app is a companion app that gives parents full control over their child’s Xplora smartwatch. It lets you manage contacts, track GPS location in real time, limit screen time, and create safe zones—all from your own phone.

Can I see where my child is using the app?

Yes. The Guardian app shows your child’s live location with GPS and updates every few seconds. You can also set up safe zones and get alerts when your child enters or leaves those areas.

What are GPS Safe Zones?

Safe Zones are geofenced areas you can set in the app. You’ll receive alerts if your child enters or leaves these zones.

How many kids watches can I manage with one app?

You can manage multiple watches for different children within the same account & still set up safe zones for the indepedent GPS kids smartwatch

Can I add more than one guardian?

Yes, you can add a second guardian with nearly identical access to manage the watch.

Is the Guardian app safe and private?

Absolutely. All data is encrypted, and only parent-approved contacts can communicate with your child. There’s no open internet or social media, making it a safer alternative to traditional smartphones.

Can I control who my child talks to?

Yes. Only contacts you approve in the Guardian app can call or message your child. You can add, remove, or edit these contacts anytime from your own phone.

What happens during school hours with school mode active?

With School Mode, you can set specific times when the watch disables all distractions. Your child can still be reached in an emergency, but they stay focused during class.

Is my child's location data kept private, and can I trust the company with it?

Location data is automatically deleted after 72 hours, and personal data is stored on AWS servers in Dublin, Ireland and Frankfurt, Germany. Xplora states it does not share this data with third parties for marketing without opt-in consent.

Is this a good first phone alternative for a kid starting kindergarten or first grade?

The XGO3 is built for ages 4-7 and works as a first connected device: it has GPS, calls and texts to approved contacts, an SOS button, and a 2MP camera, with no internet or social media for a young child to get into.

How often does the GPS update, and how accurate is it really?

The store data doesn't give a specific update interval or accuracy figure. What's confirmed is that Xplora uses real-time GPS for location and Safe Zones, and location data is deleted after 72 hours.
