In the grand, untamed wilderness of the living room, past the treacherous Sofa Mountains and the perilous Lego Tundra, lies a forgotten activity that could change the course of childhood as we know it: walking. That ancient mode of transportation before the advent of hoverboards, e-scooters, and, let's not forget, parents' rideshare services. Let's lace up our sneakers, Xplora kids certainly do, and take a whimsical wander through why we at Xplora incentivize kids to keep walking.
Actually, in 2023, kids in Europe and the US have walked 8,031 times around the globe combined, with an Xplora smartwatch on their wrist. In January, the Xplora kids in the US walked an average of almost 8,000 steps a day. Hats off to Danish kids who were the most active and on average walked more than 10,000 steps a day.
So why do we incentivize walking throughout everything we do?
First off, walking is the perfect excuse to explore the Great Indoors or the Wild Outdoors. Whether it's a safari in the backyard hunting for elusive, exotic bugs or a daring expedition to the kitchen for a snack, walking gets the little adventurers moving. It's a jungle out there, and someone needs to burn off that endless energy.
Consider walking the first step in superhero training. How do you think Batman got around before the Batmobile? Walking strengthens those tiny muscles and bones, turning kids into ready to save the world or at least carry their own backpacks.

Walking isn't just about moving from point A to B; it's about connecting the dots in the brain. Imagine each step as a tiny high-five between brain cells, sparking creativity and supercharging learning abilities. Who knew that the path to becoming a genius was literally just a walk in the park?
Ever deal with a grumpy goblin at home? Walking works like a charm to sprinkle some mood magic. It's like taking a broom to those cranky cobwebs in their minds, clearing out the grouches and letting in the sunshine. A walk a day keeps the grumps away!
Walking with friends or family is like a live-action social media platform, without the screens. Mind you, with the Xplora watches children have no access to Social Media or the internet, but they have full access to In Real Life interaction. Forget about posting and spreading thumbs up; the real bonding happens one step at a time.
Encouraging walking is like handing over the keys to Independence Avenue. With every step, kids learn to navigate their world, make decisions (left turn at the oak tree or right turn at the big rock?), and gain confidence. Before you know it, they'll be leading expeditions to the North Pole or at least to the neighbor's house.
Walking is the ultimate eco-friendly transport. Every step is a tiny protest against pollution, a small victory for Mother Earth. Teach them young to tread lightly, and who knows? They might just save the world, or as we like to say “play to move the world”.
So there you have it, folks. Walking: the underrated, underutilized superpower of the youth. And why don’t you join them? It's time to untangle those kids from their gadgets, shoehorn them into some sneakers, and set them loose on the world (or at least the neighborhood). With an Xplora watch you can call and text them, track them and more, so while you give them freedom to explore. You get peace of mind!

Conclusion
In a world where technology is omnipresent, finding the right balance between connectivity and safety for children can be challenging. Xplora bridges this gap by offering a smartwatch tailored to the needs of both children and parents. With its focus on safety, communication, and activity tracking, Xplora provides a compelling solution for families looking for a connected device without the full functionality of a smartphone. As technology continues to evolve, products like Xplora represent a promising avenue for addressing the unique needs of today's digital-native generation.
At Xplora, we want to empower schools, parents, and children in the quest for learning.
The degree to which U.S. schools choose to regulate smartphone and watch usage varies greatly, ranging from device rules to classroom bans (Gao et al., 2014). Studies have found that ownership of smartphones correlates negatively with reading habits and ability among elementary school students (Kim & Park, 2014). To many teachers, the entry of smartphones into the classroom must be revised.
However, U.S. schools implement smart device strategies, like BYOD (Bring your Own Device), where students can bring digital devices for learning. Many schools allow students to bring smart devices into the classroom with the agreement that students keep their devices off and in their backpack to minimize distractions. During state standardized testing it is also advised in most states that the smart devices are left at home. Of course it is best to check with you school on their official policy on smart devices.
It is easy to argue that connectivity is here to stay, and there are multiple reasons for your kid to be within reach if something happens, even at school.
Being able to contact an emergency contact is one. Imagine your kid is traveling with their class on an excursion: during an unfocused moment, they lose track of their class. Having mom or dad within arms reach could prove invaluable. GPS tracking lets you see where they are - potentially providing instructions to an anxious teacher.
For many parents, the guard is lowered when their child arrives at school or returns home. Having the ability to track them on their way to and forth is a real anxiety-saver. Like many, the Safe-Zone feature might be more interesting if you are a busy bee. You can set pre-defined zones that notify you once your child has exited or entered the zone. In a scenario where the school sees no other choice than banning these devices and making students leave them at home, this would not be possible.
- School Mode is activated through the Xplora Parent App. Parents have the capabilities to set designated hours of the day where their child cannot access the smartwatch. The child can still send out an SOS call if they are in trouble. School Mode is easy to activate.
By activating 'School Mode', you're not just limiting the smartwatch's functions; you're actively supporting your child's education and helping maintain concentration in the classroom.
Integrating smartwatches into the educational landscape represents a nuanced approach to managing digital devices in schools. By offering features like 'school mode,' these devices can provide the safety and connectivity benefits that parents and educators value without compromising the integrity of the learning environment. As schools continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by digital technologies, smartwatches may play a pivotal role in striking the delicate balance between connectivity and concentration in the classroom.

Sharper is always better → Higher resolution screen with animations
Sometimes, it is rather simple - the X6Play has a sharper and brighter screen, making it pleasant for the kids to look at their watch, without straining their eyes. If you are into details, here you have it:
Display Type: Digital
Display Resolution: 360 x 400 pixels
Touchscreen: Yes
Display Diagonal: 1,52"
Display Technology: TFT
What is TFT, you ask? TFT enables sharper and more vibrant images on LCD, reduces motion blur in moving images (responds faster), and ensures a viewable display from multiple angles and a thinner and lighter screen. Simple.
Longer lasting battery and a Super-fast Quad-core processor⚡️
What good is any electrical device if it needs to camp next to the wall socket for half its lifetime? The X6Play has a new, durable battery, ready to take on any teenager's massive battery consumption. Whether they are taking pictures, talking with friends or family, wapping through different watch faces, monitoring their steps, or struggling with finding just the right ringtone - the X6Play has the juice to handle it.
→ Better camera!
Speaking of cameras - the X6Play has an excellent one. Taking pictures and videos is less fun if you look like a figure from Minecraft. Jokes aside, our new camera significantly improved from its predecessor - making the images clearer and more detailed. Does more detail mean more considerable amounts of data? We're glad you asked!
X6Play comes prepared → It has storage (8GB) in spades, with room for 10,000 high-resolution pictures. That is double that of its predecessor!

The vision is as easy as it is inspirational: The more they move - the more Xplora coins earned to use on fun and educational content! A win-win for everyone where you get the most out of your smartwatch!
The Xplora team constantly works to keep the universe fun and engaging, with one ear to the ground, listening for new trends likely to engage.
In addition to the above, the X6Play has various cherished Xplora features, making it a slam-dunk selection for your soon-to-be-teen. Who doesn't love a good old list to get the complete picture? Here's one for you - with the X6Play, you and your kid will also get:
With XPLORA CONNECT, you can stay connected with your child through calls, messages, and GPS tracking, all powered by Xplora's eSIM/nanoSIM included in the box. Ensure their safety and your peace of mind.
To sum it up, you should choose the X6Play for your tween for many reasons. We could go on and on. However, the most important one is that the X6Play, like all our watches, aims to give your child a safer digital experience and a better balance between screen time and physical activity. That is hard to put a price on.

]]>There are divided opinions about giving mobile phones to children at an early age. There is a lot of talk about the influence of social media and inappropriate content that children are exposed to on the internet - even if they are not mature enough for it. Introducing a mobile phone to children with the internet and social media is something most parents find uncomfortable, and that feeling is well justified!
We all want to be in contact with the children during the day to be able to easily check their status. However, the reality is that when a child is introduced to a mobile phone, it not only opens up the possibility that you as a parent can make calls and send SMS. At the same time, a whole new world opens up where the child can come into contact with anyone and be exposed to anything. As parents, you may think that you can direct your child to look at "the right things", but it doesn't take long before the child is exposed to something else - whether they want to or not.
As an adult, you can – in the vast majority of cases – manage, sift and filter the content you are exposed to, but children cannot. Children do not know that the majority of what is posted on social media is distorted and filtered. It doesn't matter how many times you as a parent say it's not real - children are not able to think like us adults, and according to the research, this goes beyond their self-esteem and self-esteem. As a child, you don't have to think about beauty tips, body ideals and plastic surgery. Children should be allowed to be children for as long as possible!
Lisa Thorell, docent at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, has recently prepared a research overview of the area together with her research colleague Sissela Nutley. Their findings suggest that eating disorders, depression and low self-esteem are becoming increasingly common at an early age - which is strongly linked to social media:
- Based on social media content, there is an incredible body fixation very early in life that affects how you feel. Looking at images that contain beauty ideals in social media often leads to negative feelings about one's own body, eating disorders and lower self-esteem and self-esteem.
Society is not safe and we understand that you as a parent want - despite the inconvenience of social media and the internet - to stay in touch with your child. As a parent, you are thus forced to weigh the pros and cons of a mobile phone, and it is often more important to be able to have a direct link to the child - we understand that. But you don't have to choose either or! There is a better option for those who, like us, feel deeply concerned about the growing trend of giving cell phones to children at too young an age.
Our innovative smart watches with ring function are uniquely designed for children aged 4 and up. We have chosen to exclude the internet and social media from our products, and rather put the focus on what is important - namely keeping in touch with loved ones. So you have all the essential functions that a mobile phone has (such as being able to make calls, receive calls and send messages), but we have adapted it even more for children and parents.
The products are also connected to our smart parent app, where you can enter approved contacts, see where your child is in real time via the watch's GPS, define safe zones and activate school mode. Moreover, unlike a mobile phone, the Xplora watch sits securely on the child's arm and minimizes the risk of theft or loss. When the child has his hands free, the child is also encouraged to play and move.
At Xplora are not against the technological development - we rather agree that there are many advantages to it! Nevertheless, we think that as a parent you should wait to introduce a mobile phone to children. The internet and social media come with some risks which we are convinced that an older child/teenager can handle better than a smaller child.
Throughout your child's life, you have certainly bought products that have been developed uniquely for children, such as baby food, highchairs, prams, cots and robust toys. Why not do the same with your child's first mobile phone?

With a smartwatch from Xplora, it's easy to maintain safe contact with your children! Send and receive calls and messages through various communication tools such as voice calls, voice messages, emojis, pictures, and text messages with pre-written responses like "I'm running late," "Love you," and "I'm okay" – all designed to offer both parents and children a flexible and easy way to communicate with each other. Whether the child has learned to read and write or not, it should be both fun and straightforward to communicate via Xplora smartwatches!
The watch's functions are controlled through our smart parent app, which also gives you full control over who can communicate with the child and, most importantly, who the child can communicate with. An approved contact list of up to 50 people ensures that no unauthorized individuals can contact your child, creating a safe and enjoyable communication experience for both young and old.
Can you write and send text messages with the watch?
The child can use predefined texts, as well as send voice messages and emojis to contacts who have downloaded and been approved in the Xplora app.
Furthermore, the chat is limited to communication between the watch and the parent app. Therefore, unfortunately, it's not possible for two watches to send text messages to each other, but it is possible for two different watches to call each other as long as they are part of each other's approved contacts.
The watch's SOS function
The Xplora watch is also equipped with an SOS function for the safety of children. This is one of the very few functions that are active while the watch's school mode is activated, allowing children to trigger an alarm that makes the watch call the parent directly when needed. You can read more about school mode and limitations of the watch's functions here!
The mentioned alarm is triggered by holding the side button on the watch for 10 consecutive seconds. The watch will then call the administrator, while both main contacts receive a notification on their phones. If the first call is not answered, the watch will attempt to call again until one of the watch's main contacts answers the call. Note that the volume of the alert depends on the settings on your phone, and call forwarding will only work as long as you have not activated voicemail on your mobile.
How to call the watch
How to send messages to the watch
How to call from the watch
How to write messages from the watch
Turn on the screen with the side button and swipe left to open the watch's menu.
Select the message symbol and scroll to the person you want to chat with. Finally, press the relevant contact to open the conversation.
Now, choose the type of message you want to send. To send a pre-written response, press the purple button and choose the text you want to send. To send a voice message, on the other hand, press the blue button and hold it to record the desired sound. The recording can last up to a maximum of 15 seconds and will be sent automatically when you release the button.

We want to activate the children even more - and do it with play and fun! Increasing passivity is a challenge that affects many of us to a greater extent than before. More screens, more digitization of services and a far greater range of technology - not to mention digital games that many children spend a great deal of time on today.
At Xplora, we therefore want to focus on and motivate a healthy balance between screen time and physical activity. Xplora's activity platform rewards activity and thus inspires children to get off the sofa and out into the real world, resulting in a more active everyday life! Together, our users take more than one billion steps – the equivalent of walking around the world and 2,500 more steps than other children every day.
Xplora's smart watches have a built-in pedometer, which automatically starts at 0 every day. All the steps are recorded daily in the activity platform, where every thousand steps equals one Xplora coin, and you will be very surprised at how much the little feet move during the day! According to our survey, the children who join the platform move 20% more than children who are not active here.
The children can then use the saved coins to claim prizes in our own shop. This shop opens at 4 pm every Friday and stays open through the weekend. After that, new prizes are added every week!
Xplora collaborates with international and world-leading entertainment companies to create campaigns that children can participate in. We mention Boss Baby, Tom & Jerry, Space Jam and Sonic, as well as a collaboration with the world's largest aid organization for children - UNICEF. Through this collaboration, children from all Xplora's markets contributed to helping disadvantaged children in other countries.

Now that you've purchased a smartwatch from Xplora for your child, it's time to explore all the possibilities that open up! Get to know the features of our parenting app better with this guide.
Our innovative smartwatches with ring function are the perfect introduction to the digital world! With its tailor-made solutions for children, Xplora offers parents security, predictability and an overview. At the same time children get to feel more freedom, play and independence. While the watch itself has a calling, messaging, camera, pedometer, alarm, GPS functions integrated, parents manage the watch via their user in the Xplora app. There you get notifications about activity, define the child's approved contacts, track the watch's position, set up safe zones and create school mode and more.
Let's take you through the different features as they appear in the app!
When you open the app, you get a homepage that shows all the information about the selected child's watch. If you have several clocks associated with your user, you can swipe horizontally back and forth to switch between the various clock profiles.
On this collection page, you can send messages and call the child's watch, as well as track the watch's GPS position to see where the child is in real time. You can also define approved contacts, create alarms and activate school mode.
Under the cogwheel at the bottom right, you can update the settings related to your profile. Here you will find, among other things, which contact details you have registered, as well as changing passwords and more. Under the icon at the bottom left, you will find an overview of the latest updates and content from Xplora's activity platform.
If you scroll down on the home page, you can see the number of steps the child has taken during the current year. Here you will also find information about which milestones and marks the child has achieved. The different levels are:
Iron from 50,000 steps.
Bronze from 100,000 steps.
Silver from 250,000 steps.
Gold from 500,000 steps.
Platinum from 1,000,000 steps.
Platinum plus from 1,500,000 steps.
Diamond from 2,000,000 steps.
Diamond plus from 3,000,000 steps.
Black Diamond from 3,500,000 steps.
For every thousand steps the child takes, they receive an Xplora coin. Below the child's badges, there is at any time an overview of the child's earned coins, as well as the number of adventures the child is registered for. Read more about Xplora's activity platform here!
In the app, you can define up to 50 approved contacts, including 2 main contacts. These then appear in the contact list on the child's watch. The first person to sync the watch with their Xplora user automatically becomes the watch's sole administrator and can then approve an additional administrator. For more information on how to add new contacts, click here!
]]>Keep track of contacts on your child's smartwatch with our smart parent app! In the Xplora app, you can easily specify who can contact your child by defining up to 50 approved contacts in the child's contact list.
Let's start by defining the difference between an administrator (or guardian) and other contacts. While all contacts can interact with the watch by making calls and sending messages, only the watch's administrators have access to all the watch's features and settings. This means that only the main contacts can define the watch's approved contacts, track the watch's location, set up secure zones, and activate school mode, among other functions.
How to add new contacts?
The first person who scans the watch's QR code and activates the mobile subscription automatically becomes the watch's primary contact. This person can then add more individuals to the watch's contact list and, if desired, approve an additional administrator. Here's how it's done:
How to use the chat? If the new contact also wants to use the chat, they need to download the Xplora app and register as a new user.

How to set an additional administrator? When a new contact is added, the administrator can choose whether this contact should have administrator rights by pressing "Set contact as administrator." This person will then have access to view the watch's location and settings.

While the children are at school, they should stay focused on their tasks, but on the way home they may need to get hold of mom or dad? In this post, we look at how you can make the best possible use of school mode on Xplora's smartwatches.
Over one million children worldwide now use an Xplora smartwatch, and it is reasonable to assume that most of these are in school. Today, very few schools allow mobile phones or personal tablets in the classroom, as these can naturally disrupt teaching and distract students. That's why many parents want to use Xplora's smartwatches when their child starts school.
With support in the smartwatch's GPS with safe zones, SOS function, call and message functions, Xplora's products give the child more freedom and the opportunity to to develop independence in everyday life, while we parents are only a keystroke away.
However, even if the smartwatch is perfect to have on the way to school, it is very important that the classroom and recess are earmarked for learning, play and socializing, and that the rules and guidelines relating to the use of both smart watches and mobile phones are respected. Xplora's smart watches are therefore equipped with a completely separate function that solves this problem.
Using the Xplora app, parents can set the school mode, thus putting the smartwatch in a sleep mode, where the child does not have access to do anything active - such as calling, sending messages, taking pictures or anything else. The smart clock will then only work for the student as a regular clock - which shows the time. And the argument with the teacher about putting it in the bag is a thing of the past! In addition, the SOS button will be available should this be needed. The pedometer is also active even if school mode is activated, so the child can collect steps in the same way as usual!
According to one of our user surveys, it turns out that around 70 - 80 percent respond that a smart watch is allowed at the child's school - as long as it does not interfere with teaching.
For the parents, however, all the important functions are maintained! You can see where the child is at any time, and whether he leaves any safe zones defined via the parent app. When the school day is over, school mode ends, and the child can again call and send messages as normal. This means that the child can more easily make friends at home, go on activities alone straight after school and generally feel an increased degree of responsibility and independence within given limits.
School mode can also be used around the clock, which means that you can also limit use at night, morning, afternoon and evening. It is the parents themselves who decide when the child should have access to the smartwatch's functions.

3. Then press “New school mode” to create a school mode
4. Now set the start time (time) for when you want school mode to take effect. Scroll to the correct hour and the correct number of minutes. This time should be at the same time as, or slightly before, the first school period starts. You can create up to 15 different school modes, if you want school mode to be activated at different times from day to day.
5. Then set the end time in the same way.
6. Under the "Repeat" field, you finally define which days you want this time interval to apply to, before you save your settings.
7. In this example, we have now activated school mode from 09:00 to 14:00 on weekdays. This is indicated in red at the far right of the list view. If school mode is inactive, this will be indicated by the button changing color to grey. If you want to activate several school modes, with different times, you can now repeat the procedure.
]]>As we bid adieu to another incredible year, it's time to pause, reflect, and express our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you who has made 2023 an unforgettable journey for Xplora. From our dynamic Xplora kids to their supportive parents and our wonderful customers, this year has been spectacular, and we owe it all to YOU!
Let's start by celebrating the sheer brilliance of our young Xplora adventurers. Drumroll, please! Together, they've conquered an astonishing 546 BILLION steps throughout 2023. At this age, children will learn to navigate the watch with ease. They are able to call, chat, take pictures, look at the pedometer, and more. Xplora smartwatches make communicating with family and friends fun and easy! They can do this through voice messages, emojis, and pictures! In the beginning, expect to be messaged very often by your children, they will love being able to talk to you! It is a great first step to teaching children how to communicate digitally and most importantly safely.
We recommend using the XGO3 smartwatch as your starter watch! It's durable, easy to use, and has all the features you need. It also comes in 5 fun colors! It's now on sale for $84.99! That's our lowest price ever!
This is Xplora's primary target group. This age group navigates around the smartwatch well. They get a lot of pleasure from being able to call friends and family with their own "phone"! Many parents will choose to buy an Xplora smartwatch for the start of school, which we think is very beneficial!
If you live close to your child's school, they may want to walk to and from school alone. Parents and guardians can use the GPS tracker so you can easily follow where your child is. The purpose is to create more freedom for both you and the child. In the parent app, safe zones can also be created that notify you when the child leaves or enters a safe zone. For example, when they leave home and arrive at school.
So how about at school? For kids, it might be really tempting to play with the features of the watch - rather than paying attention in math class…. But with the school mode feature - there will be no distractions and learning can be in focus. If you want to know more about the school mode you can see it here!
For this age group, it is a big advantage that Xplora sits securely on the arm. With Xplora, you ensure that they are always available and the "phone" is not left behind. Your child only has access to the technology they need to be accessible and safe. If they want to be online, they can use computers or tablets while you can keep an eye on the activity. Xplora is not against the internet, it is a great tool for learning and entertainment.
Xplora aims to let children be children for as long as possible. It's no secret that smartphones with the internet will give children access to a lot of information. It increases the risk of cyberbullying, sedentary screen time, and children seeing something they are not old enough to understand yet.
The challenge with Xplora for this age group is that many children between the ages of ten and twelve have smartphones and it can be seen as uncool not to have one. Have a chat about it and assess the need. If you end up with a smartphone, prepare the children for the responsibility, and the content and remember to teach them internet savvy. Perhaps you will choose to use Xplora smartwatches for a year before the child gets a smartphone, which will be a nice transition. It is also an advantage that our products are much more affordable than the latest mobile phones.
We recommend using the X6Play smartwatch for older children! It's easy to use, has a sleek design, is more customizable, and still has all the features you need. It's now on sale for $149.99!
When the child wants a mobile phone, Xplora is your safest option. The technology has been developed for children and to give parents an alternative to smartphones.
If you start as early as 4 years old, Xplora will give the child an easy introduction to the digital world in a fun and educational way. If you are waiting until school starts, Xplora is an advantage for the child and parents when you want to stay in touch and follow a phase where the children start to explore more on their own. Do you have slightly older children that you don't want to give a smartphone to? Talk about it at home and find a solution that makes you feel safe.
There is no conclusion here, but we hope our products will provide both you and the child with peace of mind and freedom to explore, good communication and a secure alternative to smartphones!

Why Choose an Xplora Smartwatch for School?
Xplora provides a safe introduction to the digital world. Our Smartwatches are secure and easy to use. We have removed social media, internet access, and inappropriate content, effectively eliminating all the smartphone features that are unwanted for children. At the same time, we have retained all the essential functions (such as calls and voice messages) along with a sophisticated GPS-tracking system. This way, children and parents can focus on what’s most important: staying connected with their loved ones.
With an Xplora Smartwatch, your child can go to and from school, and you can reach each other through the calling or texting function. Many parents we talk to find it reassuring to know that they can call their child - and, more importantly, that their child can call home if there is anything they need.
What is School Mode?
School Mode is a setting with fixed on/off times that prevents children from using the smartwatch outside of the specified times. During these times, the smartwatch functions solely as a regular watch, and no other features are available to the child. This is all controlled by parents through the Parental App, and children cannot override this setting. This ensures that the smartwatch does not cause any disruptions in the classroom for children or teachers. The step counter continues to function even when School Mode is enabled, allowing for additional physical activity inspiration during daily life.

]]>Returning to a school routine can pose a challenge, affecting everything from sleep schedules to motivation levels. However, there are strategies you can focus on to facilitate a smoother shift back into school mode.
Several practical steps can be taken to help prepare your children for school…Children should gradually adjust their bedtime to avoid sudden awakening shocks. If your children showing signs of tiredness or unease in the initial days may require your assistance and understanding to ensure a less stressful transition.
Have your kids select their outfits and check backpacks for essentials the night before to avoid morning confusion and last-minute searches.
Allow your children's imaginations to run wild. Inform them about their school, teachers, and special classes or after-school activities they could participate in.
Encourage new and returning students to visit the office, meet staff members, and tour the facility, allowing them to become familiar with their new surroundings and the spaces they'll be using. This can help reduce anxiety and enhance their comfort.
Parents should familiarize children with the route to the school, particularly for bus riders, reinforcing bus details and pickup locations. Or if your child will begin walking to and from school have them learn the new routes. This familiarity can hasten their adjustment.
For children aged birth to 5, maintain a consistent routine and differentiate between school and home days.
For ages 6 to 9, instill excitement for school, acknowledge potential fatigue, and highlight the benefits of both school and breaks.
For ages 10 to 15, understand resistance to school and help identify positive aspects. Acknowledge challenges and emphasize the rewards of persevering.
For ages 16 to 18, stress the importance of education, focus on enjoyable aspects of school, and assist with practical tasks like job applications and college preparations.
By implementing these strategies, the transition back to school can be smoother and more manageable for both children and parents!

]]>Xplora has developed and perfected smartwatches for kids since 2016. Our GPS smartwatches are designed for children, providing a safe transition into the digital world. Today, more than 2 million parents worldwide trust Xplora for their child.
One of the most prominent functions of Xplora Smartwatches is the lack of social media and Internet access. This feature prevents children from being exposed to possibly harmful content, which is not appropriate for their age group. By limiting the access to Internet and social media, Xplora creates a safer introduction to the digital world and provides parents with more control over their children's technology use.
Xplora Smartwatches are centered on children's safety and parents' peace of mind. Through our Xplora app, parents themselves can control things such as approved contacts and limits on screen time. Our watches also have GPS-tracking, which gives you the opportunity to stay updated on your child's real-time whereabouts. This feature gives kids the freedom to explore safely, while parents can have peace of mind.
In addition to safety features, Xplora focuses on promoting play and creativity in children. Therefore, Xplora has developed its own platform with content tailored specifically for kids! Xplora’s Activity Platform offers games and activities that stimulate children’s imagination and learning. Parents can encourage their children to use the watch and platform to explore new interests and develop their skills. By combining technology with play, children can experience a balanced approach to their technology use.
More time, less screen. This should be a mantra for parents in today’s digital age. While technology has many benefits and can help enrich children’s lives, it’s important to maintain a balance between screen time and other offline activities. By encouraging physical activity and other non-digital activities, you can help create a healthy and diverse daily life for your children.
As parents, it’s also crucial to be active participants in your children’s technological experiences. By engaging with them when they use technology, you can achieve several things. Firstly, you can build strong bonds and create shared experiences. You can share joy, laughter, and learning while exploring digital games, apps, and videos together. Secondly, it provides an opportunity for you to guide and supervise your children in safe and appropriate technology use. You can teach them about online safety, discuss privacy aspects, and help them develop healthy digital habits.
To summarize, here are eight general guidelines that can help us create a safe and positive use of technology for children:

]]>Statistics from The Common shows that by the age of ten, 42 percent of kids have a smartphone. By age 12, it’s 71 percent. As the beginning of the school year approaches, many parents feel the pressure and need to provide their child with a smartphone. After all, you want to know that your child is safe and within reach, especially when they travel to and from school.
For many parents, a mobile phone can be an important tool for always knowing where the child is located and to reach them whenever is needed. It also makes everyday life easier for the whole family, with all the coordination and logistics that come with children!
Now you can postpone the purchase of a regular expensive smartphone, which comes with a lot of content aimed at young adults and grownups – content and functions that children absolutely do not need. Two million parents have already chosen an Xplora smartwatch with full connectivity with calls and messages for their children! There are many reasons why.
Xplora was founded with a clear goal and a lofty vision: To let children explore the world in a safe and healthy way. It is known through research today that secure and active children have better conditions for maneuvering life and finding their place in the world. Facilitating this is why Xplora exists.
With a kidSAFE certified Xplora smartwatch, children can be children – and adults can still be in control! Through the Parental App on your own phone, you decide who your child should have contact with. The app also gives you information about where your child is with the built in GPS.
Our smartwatch is equipped with:
✔️ GPS function
✔️ School mode
✔️ Camera
✔️ Step counter
✔️ Voice messages
✔️ No social media and internet
✔️ SOS button
Xplora is a safe introduction to the mobile and digital world. Our smartwatches are safe and simple to use. We have removed social media, access to the internet, and inappropriate content, while having kept all the basic functions (calls and voice messages) in addition to sophisticated GPS-tracking. In that way, children and parents can focus on the most important thing: keeping in touch with their loved ones.
Xplora is a three-part service consisting of:
With a smartwatch from Xplora, your child can go to and from school, and you and your child can reach each other via the call function. Many parents we speak to think it is good to know that they can call the child - and not least vice versa; that the child can call Mom or Dad if there is anything they want or need, or are in some kind of trouble.
School Mode is a setting for fixed on/off times that prevents children from using the smartwatch outside the specified times. Then the smartwatch works exclusively as a normal watch – and no other functions are available for the child.
This is controlled by parents through our parent app, and it is not possible for children to manage themselves. In that way, the smart watch is not a disturbance in the classroom for the children or teacher. The step counter works even if school mode is on and can therefore continue to inspire extra activity in everyday life.
Children who take pictures of themselves or other children and publish them online can get exposure far beyond what was intended. It is therefore important that children who have mobile phones with a camera, have clear limits on what the camera can be used for.
For small children, it may be a good idea to avoid the camera. Mobile phones without cameras are starting to become rare, and there are therefore eventually few alternatives to choose from. If Xplora is in school mode, the camera function is also disabled.
As previously mentioned, there is no access to the internet on the smartwatch, so sharing on social media or online is not possible. In addition, the images taken with the smartwatch are only shared with pre-approved contacts, which is why the smartwatch is a super option for the youngest children.
You can also buy the smartwatch at Xplora.com, Amazon, Sam’s Club, Target, BestBuy, Coles, Toys “R” Us, Boscov’s, and more.
Good luck with the start of school!

The market is filled with smartwatches - and phone products, but not many are made with the adventurous life of our dearest in mind - our kids! Xplora wanted to do something about that. What our children need is pretty far from the technology that is fronted in the adult segment! Experts have been warning for a long time and many studies show that social media, games, videos, and a lot of the free access Internet services are not suitable for young children.
Check out the Premium model - the X6Play kids smartwatch.
At the same time, we know that many families are struggling to balance the activity of their kids and the fast-increasing screen time of our youngest. Our kids are getting more and more unhealthy! Studies show that this is one of the biggest concerns among parents today.
So, a solution to all of this is actually pretty simple: With an Xplora smartwatch parents get peace of mind, and kids can be active and explore the real world the way they are supposed to! At the same time they have a fun device with the possibility to call and message their loved ones - just a click away right there on the wrist of their arm!
First of all - the Xplora smartwatches are stripped for all free Internet access and social media! In this way our kids are safe from all the unwanted content they normally would be exposed to on a smartphone or adult smartwatch.
Second - the smartwatches have a dedicated built-in GPS which accurately shows parents where their kids are! This function can be used to set up safety zones and alarms if the kids wander too far away. But remember - kids should be allowed to be free, explore and make mistakes on their own. Xplora does not support surveillance use, but wants to be precise about the use of GPS - it is solely a safety feature to be used in the correct manner!
Checkout the entry level option with the XGO3 kids smartwatch.
A smartwatch from Xplora is first and foremost the perfect first cell phone for kids aged 4 to 11 years old! Let the kids run free!
One of Xplora’s main visions is to let kids be kids in all their glory! Active, free, adventurous, playful, educated, social, friendly, and all in between! In a world that is rapidly changing we need new technology to help us out sometimes - the most important is that we make use of the technology in good ways, and that is exactly what Xplora is about: Making a device that makes everyday life easier, gives incentives to a healthy and active lifestyle and that makes kids have the time of their life and create childhood memories to remember!
There will be a time for everyone to be grown up and adult. Now is not the time for our kids.
So, let the kids run free - Xplora will take care of the rest!
Fireworks
While fireworks are a lot of fun, they also cause injuries to thousands of Americans every year. In 2021, 74% of fireworks-related injuries occurred in the weeks before and after the 4th of July (Learn more). Staying safe around fireworks is crucial to both adults and children! As previously mentioned, most places don’t allow private fireworks, and Xplora’s top tip is to find a place in your area where there is an organized firework show. That way you and your family can enjoy the experience without having to deal with any of the dangers or planning involved.
If you do decide to ignite some fireworks yourself, then remember to…
Visit CPSC for more fireworks safety tips.
Water activities
Between barbeques, fireworks, and picnics, we want to remind you to be safe around water this holiday. Playing in the water is a lot of fun, especially for children. In order to keep your kids safe, make sure that you always have designated ‘water watchers’: whenever there are children around or in the water, there should always be at least one adult watching. Try to go to a place where there are lifeguards working as well, for some extra peace of mind. Remind your kids that there should be absolutely no pushing in or around the water and that running on wet surfaces is a no-go. If anybody wants to jump into the water, then remember to check the depth and if there are any warning signs or other important information around.
Remember to remove your Xplora smartwatch before getting in the water!

]]>The Invisible Dangers of the Online Realm:
With the world at their fingertips, children are susceptible to various risks including exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, identity theft, and potential contact with strangers who may have malicious intentions. The internet, though invaluable for learning and connecting, must be approached with caution.
The Need for Privacy demands attention:
It is crucial to teach children about the importance of safeguarding their identities and privacy in the digital space. By understanding the risks and learning responsible online behavior, they can navigate the internet more safely.
In addition to being vigilant and educating our children about online safety, one powerful solution to address the risks of children using the internet is to establish open lines of communication. By fostering trust and creating a safe space for open dialogue, parents can encourage their children to share their online experiences, concerns, and potential threats they encounter. This proactive approach allows parents to provide guidance, address any issues promptly, and offer valuable advice on navigating the digital landscape. By maintaining a healthy and ongoing conversation, we can actively protect our children and empower them to make informed decisions when using the internet.

As parents, our responsibility to protect our children extends to the digital world. Online privacy is a fundamental right that must be safeguarded. Our children are the architects of our future, and we must equip them with the knowledge and tools to navigate the online world with confidence and caution. Together, we can protect their innocence, preserve their privacy, nudge their creativity, and ensure a brighter, safer future for all.
In today's world, where technology has become an integral part of our lives, it is important to instill in children a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
At Xplora, we decided to partner with One Tree Planted. One Tree Planted makes it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Together they help restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world.
We are excited to team up with One Tree Planted for the month of April. For the entire month of April, every children's smartwatch purchased from Xplora will result in One Tree Planted planting a tree in a community. By purchasing a watch for your child, you'll be investing in their safety and connectivity while also making a positive impact on the environment. Let's take a look at the benefits of having an Xplora smartwatch and contributing to the One Tree Planted campaign.
Firstly, Xplora smartwatches are designed specifically for children. They come with features such as GPS tracking, phone calls, messaging, and step counting, among others. This ensures that parents can keep an eye on their children's location and communication while allowing the children to enjoy the benefits of technology. Moreover, the Xplora smartwatch is waterproof, making it durable and suitable for children's outdoor activities.
In addition to the above benefits, the One Tree Planted campaign adds another layer of value to the Xplora smartwatch. With each sale, a tree is planted in local communities, contributing to the fight against climate change. Trees play a vital role in reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, purifying the air, and providing a habitat for wildlife. By planting trees, the One Tree Planted campaign is not only contributing to a cleaner environment but also improving the quality of life for people and animals.

]]>As parents, we have a responsibility to raise our children to be the best versions of themselves. When it comes to our daughters, we want them to be strong, confident, and independent women who can navigate the world safely and with grace.
But what kind of woman do we want our daughters to be, and how can we help them achieve their full potential?
First and foremost, we want our daughters to be safe. This means teaching them about personal safety, and making sure they know how to protect themselves from harm. It also means instilling in them a sense of self-worth, so that they know they deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
Secondly, we want our daughters to be independent. We want them to know that they don't need anyone else to define their worth or to make them happy. We want them to be able to make their own decisions, and to follow their own dreams, no matter how unconventional they may seem.
Thirdly, we want our daughters to be emotionally and physically balanced. We want them to be able to express their emotions in a healthy way, and to take care of their mental and physical health. We want them to understand that taking care of themselves is not selfish, but rather essential to their overall well-being.
So, what can we do as parents to help our daughters become the women we want them to be?
First, we can model the behavior we want to see in them. We can show them what it means to be strong, independent, and emotionally balanced. We can also encourage them to pursue their passions and interests, and to explore new opportunities.
We can provide them with the resources and support they need to thrive. This might include enrolling them in extracurricular activities, connecting them with mentors and role models, and providing them with access to books, podcasts, and other resources that promote personal growth and development.
Finally, we can empower our daughters by teaching them that they are perfect just the way they are. We can celebrate their unique qualities and strengths, and help them see that they don't need to conform to society's narrow standards of beauty or success.
It's important to remember that all of these things apply to all out children and despite genders as well.
Happy International Women's Day!
We want our kids to be safe, independent, and emotionally and physically balanced. We want them to grow up to be respectful, kind, and empathetic humans who value and respect each other, disregard gender, nativity and all other aspects of inequality. We are all humans, and we are all in need of being respected and recognized for the person we are.
As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's remember that creating a more equal and inclusive world requires the active participation of everyone.
By raising our children to be strong, independent, and empathetic individuals, we can help create a better future for all!

One of the main advantages of an Xplora smartwatch is that it is designed specifically for kids. This means that it has features and apps that are tailored to encourage outdoor play and physical activity. For example, it has a built-in step tracker, a compass, and even a geolocation system that lets you keep track of your child’s whereabouts. These features can help keep kids active and engaged while they are playing outside, rather than sitting inside and using a cell phone.
Xplora also comes with a Goplay platform which rewards kids for their physical activity! Every 1,000 steps your child takes will earn them an Xplora coin, which they can then use on the Goplay platform to bid on some really cool prizes!
Cell phones can be a major source of screen time for kids, which can have negative effects on their physical and mental health. Xplora smartwatches get children outdoors instead of in front of a screen. With Xplora’s Goplay platform kids are more motivated than ever to earn coins for their activity. The more they move the more coins they collect. This is where parents can set limitations and monitor usage, ensuring that their child is not spending too much time looking at a screen. This can also help reduce time spent on video games or social media, which are prevalent on cell phones. The Xplora smartwatch has no social media, no internet and no games. It rewards physical activity, though. that can be used for educational or entertainment content on the carefully curated Goplay platform.
One of the biggest concerns for parents when it comes to cell phones is safety. With an Xplora smartwatch, parents can take advantage of a number of safety features that are not available on cell phones.Parents are in full control of their child’s smartwatch starting with the pre approved contacts. Parents can set up to 50 contacts in the parent app. These will be the only phone numbers that will be able to contact the smartwatch. No unsolicited calls or spam!
Another example, the GPS system can help you keep track of your child’s whereabouts in real time. It's also important to note that the GPS feature will not notify your children that you are checking in on their location! Parents can also set up Safe Zones from the parent app. When your children step out of a safe zone in your neighborhood it will alert you and them. That way children can explore in a much safer way!
Finally, there is a built in SOS button that will notify the guardians if the child activates it. So if there is ever an emergency you are only one click away!

Cell phones can be expensive, especially for the latest models. An Xplora smartwatch is a more cost-effective alternative, especially for younger kids who are just starting to explore the world of technology. The smartwatch also has a longer battery life than many cell phones, so you won’t have to worry about constantly charging it. Not to mention it's hard for a child to lose something that is attached to their wrist!
Finally, an Xplora smartwatch can help encourage communication between parents and kids. The smartwatch includes a messaging feature that allows parents and kids to send messages to each other, which can be a great way to stay in touch while they are apart. This can also help build trust and strengthen the bonds.
Overall, an Xplora smartwatch is a great alternative to a cell phone for kids. With its focus on outdoor play and physical activity, better screen time management, safety features, cost-effectiveness, and communication features, it is the perfect choice for parents who are looking for a device that will help keep their kids healthy, safe, and engaged.
